6 Proven Ways To Fight Acne
There are millions of people around the world that are affected by acne. The condition can be mild or severe. Nonetheless, acne can affect one's confidence and self esteem.
Practically anyone can be prone to acne breakouts. It does not matter if you are young or old, male or female. We are all equally exposed to this skin condition.
If you have acne, you would have probably tried many products that did not work.
In reality, most of the acne creams in the market today work the opposite of what they claim to do -instead of getting rid of acne, they can make your acne problem worse.
If you want truly effective acne cure, take the following 6 tips :
1. Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser
Use a gentle cleanser to wash you face. Do not rub on the skin too hard as this will aggravate the acne. Choose a gentle cleanser that is made for acne prone skin.
2. Reduce excess oil
Our skin has sebaceous glands that produce oil. However, when these glands produce too much oil, the excess oil can mix with dirt and dead skin cells and clog the pores.
You need to keep the oil under control to prevent this. Choose a good astringent to reduce the oil surface and keep oil production under control.
3. Do not touch the acne
If you see a pimple on your face, resist the urge to squeeze it or pop it.
If you pop a pimple, it runs the risk of getting more infection as well as leaving acne scars.
4. Use only the right makeup.
If you have an acne problem, it is best not to wear makeup. However, if you must, then use oil free and non comedogenic make up.
5. Shaving
Men who have acne problems need to carefully shave their face. The last thing you want is to nick those zits and spread the infection.
Go with safety razors instead of electric shavers; the former provides more control and maneuverability. If you have sensitive skin, use shaving cream.
6. Have adequate amount of sunlight
Sunlight is good for our skin. However, if you're exposing your skin to sunlight for long periods because you think your acne is going to be less noticeable on darker skin, you're dead wrong.
Over exposure to sunlight can be very damaging to your skin. Remember to use a high SPF sun block and choose an oil free formula.
